Always Near
Mark Janssen
Trim size: : 25 x 29 cm | 32 pages
Whenever you miss someone, they’re never far away. The surprise hit of this summer!
Granny What can you do when you really miss someone, and trying not to miss them only makes it worse? She had said: She had said: That’s when you slowly discover, bit by bit, that the person you love is never really gone. That there are signs everywhere of the love, the attention, the presence of that one person who isn’t physically here anymore – yet always remains nearby. In beautifully detailed black-and-white drawings inspired by visits to Nepal, Mark Janssen presents a world in which a butterfly, a fish, a monkey and other small signs are manifestations of a grandmother whose absence is felt so intensely. It is a touching story in all its beauty, simplicity and language. A book that brings hope and comfort to young and old.
